Deadline Extended to March 31st!
We are now accepting applications
from Southern California residents for Season 3 of the Curvaceous
Magazine Model Search...
(All other models please email you name, home state,
and a couple of photos using the link on the main page.)
What is Curvaceous Magazine?
| |
Curvaceous is a sexy and provocative electronic
magazine that features amazing photographic layouts of plus models.
Founded in August, 2001, the magazine was forced into hiatus
when Publisher Michael L. Belanger came down with a slight case
of almost dying. Now back at the helm with a new heart valve
(and a really cool scar), Belanger looks forward to making the
world a curvier place, one Cover-Girl at a time. Curvaceous resumed
online publication on August 8, 2004, after Season 1 of the Curvaceous
Magazine Model Search. |

What is the Curvaceous Magazine Model Search?
| |
It's an Internet Reality Series which follows
8 plus models through weeks of competiton to see which one will
be the August Anniversary Cover-girl for Curvaceous Magazine.
Thousands of visitors from around the world tune in each week
to see who goes forward, and who goes home. Season 3 of the series
will go into production in Spring of 2006 |

What is an Internet Reality Series?
| |
It's basically a combination of 2 things you
probably already love (or hate), an Internet Website and a Reality
TV Show. Visitors to Curvaceous Magazine follow the competition
week to week by viewing Quicktime movies and interactive web
pages. |

What are the requirements to enter the Model Search?
| |
You must be a female-born legal southern California
resident (residing in zip codes 90000 to 93599) age 18 or older
at the time of entry. You must be a size 14 or larger. There
is no height restriction. In addition, you must be willing to
appear in an Internet Reality Series and to travel at your own
expense to several Southern California Model Search Events (8
WEEKEND DAYS IN APRIL, MAY, AND JUNE, 2006) (See Official Rules
for further eligibility requirements.) |

Do I have to be a California Resident?
| |
Yes. Season 3 of the show is limited to southern
California residents only. You must reside in zip codes 90000
to 93599 to enter or win. We look forward to making future Model
Search events accessible to all U.S. models. |

What dates do I need to be available on?
| |
If chosen as a quarter-finalist (see 'How are the quarter-finalists
selected' below) you will need to be prepared to attend all Required

|
Can you give me an example of what kinds of photos to send
in?
| |
 |
The Close-up should show your face clearly,
in good light, filling the entire frame. Wear makeup as you would
for a night out on the town. Be cute, and don't forget to smile! |
|
| |
 |
The Full-body should show you standing from
head to toe, almost touching the top and bottom of the frame.
Wear an outfit that shows off your curves. See the other pictures
on this page for ideas. |
|

How are the Quarter-Finalists selected?
| |
24 Quarter-Finalists will be selected from the
eligible entries by the contest Judges. |

How are the Semi-Finalists selected?
| |
In April, 2006, each of the 24 Quarter-Finalists
will attend a Call-Back Interview with the Contest Judges. The
Contest Judges will then select 8 Semi-Finalists who will continue
forward in the competition. |

How are the Finalists selected?
| |
During the Judging Period the Contest Judges
will eliminate all but 3 Semi-Finalists from the competition
based on their performance and behavior during several real-world
modeling assignments including but not limited to runway, print,
video, fashion, swimwear, lingerie, and semi-nude modeling. |

How is the Cover-Girl selected?
| |
During the Final Judging one Cover-Girl will
be selected from the three Finalists by the Contest Judges based
on their performance and behavior during individual Curvaceous
Magazine Cover Shoots including but not limited to print, video,
swimwear, lingerie, and semi-nude modeling. |

What constitutes semi-nude modeling?
| |
In general, any modeling where you give the impression
of being nude without actually showing nudity. This includes
see-through tops and bras, topless but covered shots, thong panties,
and bare backsides. Don't freak out. We've enlisted some of the
most talented designers and stylists in the plus size world to
create layouts which shows off your best assets (bust, legs,
and tush) while leaving the rest to the imagination. |

What are the prizes?
| |
The 3 Finalists will receive:
- A Model Makeover
- Advanced Model Training
- A Photo Shoot
- A Publicity Package
- A percentage of the profits from the individual Curvaceous
Magazine 2005 Cover Shoot DVD in which they appear.
In addition, one Cover-Girl will receive an additional percentage
of the profits from the individual Curvaceous Magazine 2006 Cover
Shoot DVD in which she appears and a guaranteed cover story and
photo layout in the August 2006 edition of curvaceousmagazine.com.
The prize-list continues to grow.
